very interesting read

Thanks for sharing. I agree with the majority of your points BP

Some measure success by how many "units" are sold or how much profit is made. Those are important items for a business. However, it doesn't tell the whole story.

To me, for a musical instrument company (and I sense this is true for musicman) - success is measured by making products that musicians have a high respect for. So much so that the musician's spend their hard earned $$ on and spread recommendations via word of mouth.

I for one truly appreciate the sense that I am a part of the greater 'team' at EBMM. I feel connected and involved with the members of EBMM and the forum members in a way that is not found with other companies. To have BP respond directly in threads and be so in touch with the people who will be using his excellent products is really cool.

I totally agree that many companies drop the connections with the people who purchase their product(s) and start to see them as 'customers'. I never get that feeling here. I think that is why many on the outside kid us that we have a 'cult'. We are devoted because we sense the devotion of EBMM to us.

Thanks all...big hug to all :)

Thanks for sharing BP. I'm glad to have ordered my first Bongo from your fine company. I ordered it from my favorite local business and one of your newer dealers, Bass Emporium. I remember the first time I saw Ed there he immediately commented on my Stingray T-shirt. :)

Great read, thanks for putting it up. I really like the part about ADD as "immunity from oversaturation". I never thought of it that way.

Thanks Pops, it's always a pleasure to read. Everything that has already been said here is completely true (but I do believe there is a certain cult-ness going on...especially with them there Bongos.)

I read the blog last week but didn't get time to log on - thanks for sharing this with us. Not sure I totally agree with it all, but it's great you're willing to share this sort of stuff and involve customers in this way - it marks EBMM apart from the rest in my view - along with all the other stuff you do like great customer service, great product etc etc.

Im sure that many people dont agree with me. I dont know the point of mentioning that other than to sort of halfway compliment me...... Thanks for your comments!

BP - this was meant to be a compliment - but not wishing to appear sycophantic at the same time - I'm always inspired by what you put on here and the fact I play your product exclusively indicates I agree far more than disagree :)
