Well after lurking around on this forum and finally signing up I can now count myself as a valid paid up member. I am the proud owner of a a new Bongo 5HH with piezo. I had a frustrating wait for it though. I ordered a 5HH in graphite pearl from my local dealer after finding what Strings & Things (UK distributer) had in stock. This was back in early March. It came through with a damaged neck and so I decided to change the order to a Stealth which was also in stock at Strings and Things. Would you believe it this also had damage issues, aagh! A new neck was ordered for the graphite pearl and it came through last week. It arrived damaged from the US. Double aagh!!
Anyway, Alan & Pete at Strings and Things have been superb, great customer service. Rather than wait for yet another neck they offered me a Carbon Blue Pearl 5HH with piezo as compensation. I was'nt sure about the colour but they agreed to send it to my local dealer for approval. So I mosey on down to the store and personally opened the shipping box. All I can say is WOW!! You know there are certain times when you pick up an instrument and it just well kind of speaks to you. Damn, this bass is superb in every respect, instant mojo and the quality of this beast is quite simply unbeatable in its price range. The tones I can coax from this monster are just killer. I'm like a kid with a new fire truck!
Thanks to all you guys and girls here, I've been reading this forum for quite some time now, YOU ALL (through your reviews, opinions and slavish brand loyalty) all justified, put me onto this - thank you, thank you, thank you.
To Beth, thanks for you prompt and professional replies to my emails. And a big vote of confidence in the UK distributor, Strings and Things. I was in LA last week and could have picked up a Bongo at one of the dealers there and carried it home on board the 'plane. It was more than a notion I can tell you after the initial disappointment(s). I thought no, stick with the UK distributor, boy am I glad I did.

Thanks for reading my hysterical musings, I'm gonna sign off with a few piccies I took earlier (it doesnt exist without pics right)? and get back to my woodshedding on this fabulous bass.
Cheers
Paul

Wow It sunny in England!!!!!!! nice bass too!

Oh, yeah it's summer, 22 degrees C, just think of all those village pubs, the sound of a cricket bat, the slurping of warm beer and a Bongo over my knees whilst rounding off a barbie in the garden- life is good.

BP, you and your merry band make arguably the best production bass on the planet, cheers! On a different note, I drove through Coachella a couple of weeks ago on my way to Palm Springs. I can see why you moved there ;) , man, them golf courses look awesome. its a pity I didnt have the time to take advantage of a few of 'em!

Hey Ex brilliant looking bass man...I know what you mean about Strings and Things, when the chips are down they really do come through. And of course not forgetting BP, Beth and the guys across the pond who make our world on this green island rock.

Hope you had a great weekend because there is more to come this week 22 and rising - and thats just the footie!!!:)

I was sunning my backside at the Wyndham for a couple of days, a holiday essentially. I wanted to stop at Coachella but we had just driven up from San Diego and I had a travel weary 4 yr old and 'her in doors' with me. She had banned me from talking all things bass as I had bored her silly with Bongo talk for the last month!

I try not to mention beautiful girls 'cos I just get in trouble. I must admit though, them California gals had some seriously nice gnashers ...
