Thanks Mike! I promise I'll be at the Gate this Thursday; I have to break in the Bay Area to the Bongo!

Haven't seen any out there yet, although I'm sure they're lurking!:D

Here's three shots:

That last shot was flipped for our "lefty" friends!

Congrats on the Bongo. No need to tell you to enjoy as it sounds like you are a plenty.

James how u likin the HS vs the HH you playted at Open House?

congrats bro!
I'm liking this config' a lot, but I can't make an objective comparison to the OH Bongo, because I was so focused on the task-at-hand (not that it wasn't fun), that I really couldn't concentrate on the actual sound. I bought my Bongo based on the feel and overall tone I got that evening.

And, the looks finally won me over!

I do notice a certain clarity with the neck p/u, whereas the HH neck p/u was flat-out beefier.

I could, to a certain degree, use my HH Sabre as a comparison between the two, in which my above-stated opinion is reinforced.

Long-winded answer...yeah. But, I'm still fired-up about today's purchase!:D

Nice one, James.
Jack, thanks for understanding my rush to purchase vs the wait for build time.

There is still the DG HH B4 w/BI PG on the ordering horizon, though. It'll be a few weeks before ordering, but you're the guy!

That's cool! Another great thing is that I still have an excuse to buy another Bongo; different finish/pickup config'.:D

Way to go James!

Man, seeing you with that "junkie itch" around all those Bongos at the Open House had me worried for ya!

Glad you got your fix! :D

I've always heard that he prefers the single H setup but I'm sure he loves the others too, or he wouldn't have them made.

Andrew

I was just wondering. I'm trying to decide whether i should get the H SC or the HH bongo and I just can't seem to make up my mind.

My thought on the H vs HH or HS is this:

Even if the H is in a slightly different position (i.e. "sweet spot"), it still won't give you the tone-shaping options that a dual p/u config' will.
