I posted in a differrent thread when I first got it, but thought I'd post a new one with my own pics (had the TPB pics in the other thread). What better to use my 1000th post for?!

First, a few comments about the bass: best sounding bass I've ever owned or played. This thing is a phenomenon. Quest over. Sure, I'll buy others over time 'cause I love them too (Stealth SR4HH anyone?) ... but this bass is top dog for me. I didn't anticipate the 4H having such a distinct character from the 4HH, but it does, and man let me tell you, does it mean business. I've been spending some serious QT with it since I got it Tuesday, and I'm still just totally stunned. What a monster.

Just a few pics for now. I'll post a few more with the Blue Swirl pg, which I should be getting tomorrow.

But first, thanks again Brandt, and a very sincere thanks to everyone at EBMM, from BP and the engineering team to the assemblers, painters/finishers and setup guys for the excellence you put into producing this superb instrument.

Edit: By the way, pay no mind to the amp settings. That was just after my 2 y/o was learning by doing. :)

If you can't see the images below, here's the link to the album on picasa: Sterling Silver Bongo 4H

Oh interesting ... I guess you guys are using Firefox, huh? I just tried Firefox, and I can't see them either (or the little boxes that appear in MS IE when an image fails to load). That's weird. I checked Firefox settings - I don't see anything that would seem to affect this. Any of you web guys got any ideas?

Edit: Maybe it's the sizes that Firefox doesn't like - I dunno. They're visible in IE. I don't wanna resize 'em right now - it's bed-time. I added a link in the OP to the album itself on Picasa (here it is again).

he has a good track record! he buys basses!

Now you know why they call the singel h the Big Poppa Bongo...I have said many times that my first mistake with the bongo was to offer it in multiple pickup configurations...if I let people start with the single h and then gradually introduced them to the other options it might have been smoother....Ah hell who am I kidding I was trying to rock the boat and do something cool and different. THe hhp really intimidated guys who grab a bass and dime everthing....

Nice Robert. The Big Poppa Bongo is a killer bass, especially with the little thumb rest trick I posted a while back.

I love my Blue Dawn 4H. Then again I have enjoyed every Bongo I have had and currently own. Really looking forward to the BFR Rosewood 4HH I have on order.

Must've missed that post Bill, what's yer trick? Bet your Blue Dawn is gorgeous.

I find I like playing in front of the pickup like if I were to anchor my thumb on a front pickup. Without a front pickup, I put a small suction-cup type thing with a little nub on it where the back corner of a front H would be. Gives me an anchor and allows my fingers to play where they like the string tension - in front of the rear pickup.
