Something that I like here is that I get an e-mail because it is my birthday!!! wow, It is the first forum that do that, very nice.

Well small things can make a huge difference in the enjoyement of anything and it looks like this is a good place.

So hi all !

Bongo 5 HH, yeah I'm looking at one too:D

hahaha :D

Right now I'm more toward the SR5HH than the Bongo5HH because you can get maple fretboard and pickup selector.

I saw an SR5H last week in olive gold with gold swirl pickguard and a maple fretboard I was like . The only problem was ... it was righthanded and I'm lefty but wow I really like that combination.

I also check the videos of Ed Friedland on Youtube and the SR5 was the one that sounded best with every position. But it may be not the best representation.

Welcome! Bongos are very popular here and should be worldwide! But between you and me, every Ball is excellent, you can't go wrong with any of them. I actually tend to grab my Sterlings more right now, but then sometimes a StingRay is my favorite. I often just pull out an EBMM case go to play and find out at the gig what I brought. Fun, Fun, Fun! :D

I can't do that with one fretted and one fretless. More time, and more basses, then I could.

Buy the first Music Man you see. You will love it!

Strung with flats and open tuning in C sharp... ;)

Flats, what's wrong with flats?

Oli, the deluxe versions (what most of us own) have these metal pegs at one end of the bass, and they are connected via some kind of cog wheel (it looks very mysterious) to a clover leaf shaped thingie that can be turned to gently alternate the tuning of each string individually. So an open c# tuning would at most be a minor hassle;-)

Nothing. If you like that sound... ;)

And all those years I wondered what those funny thingies at the end of that largish piece of wood was good for! ;) On a more serious note: I wouldn't want to need to retune the bass from C# to E while the drummer counts in...
