What does the neck feel like - the reason I ask is that I just love the feel of an oiled neck and was wondering how this compares?

Spud, these are finished necks and do not feel anything like an oiled neck (aside from retaining the same profile). It's the same feel as a JP BFR neck, or any other brand that uses a gloss finish on the neck.

Great pics Pete. The JPX7 headstock is rather plain but they all can’t be winners eh.

Just because you don't see a lot of birdseye in the headstock doesn't mean it is plain. That neck and headstock have more shifting figure than I have seen in a long time, it looks like a boiling pot of honey with sprinkles of birdseye. Definitely a winner.
