I found a new Copperhead SR5 that had been sitting in GC for (apparently) quite a while in Michigan (thanks to a post at TB). I've never seen one in person, but I really love (I think) these very different basses. Guitar Center staff assured me over the phone that it was "Pristine" and a great deal, so let's see what shows up later in the week- I'll keep you posted. I have a feeling I may need to get out my cleaning supplies and new Slinkys.

I can't wait to meet my blind date.

Pics asap if it's a looker.

BTW, would any one at EBMM know exactly how many of these were made? I've heard anywhere from a handful to about 100.

Yeah, I have to agree with BP and others. Honestly, I doubt I would have even given the bass, or this color a second look had it not been for the patinaed pickguard. To me it makes all the difference. Just the same, I appreciate all of your enthusiasm for the new bass. This is one of those "sneak it in the house" basses-who else could I tell but you?

We probably made somewhere around 100. They all went to GC as no independent ordered any. It was showed at the same show as MOG if I remember correctly.

I'm gonna sit on the fence and say I like them both... painful as it is! :D

The stock pg is undoubtably cool, however black is uber-sexy for when you want a different look. :)

ETA - that Sterling is WOW! I've been hunting for that pic for ageeees after seeing it the first time - so thanks for posting it midopa :D

Stock pg rocks... My first contact with a Sterling was a Copperhead Bronze in the Totowa, NJ GC!

I love the combo... :)
