I am pretty sure that many of you have already read somewhere else that the "Made In USA" is no longer applicable for Californian companies if the product is "... containing any amount of foreign content, regardless how little". I also recognized that another Californian (acoustic guitar) manufacturer in Nazareth has removed the "Made in USA" label fully on its guitars. I wonder if the new "crafted in SLO" label is a smart workaround to circumvent the legal difficulties or just (and solely) a better way of telling the story of Music Man.

this is just a horrible situation and there are law firms that exist only to prosecute these kinds of deals. Some of our ball ends on the strings are made in Switzerland and the tuning keys are made in Germany. Removing the benefit of proudly saying that you are making guitars in San Luis Obispo, California or USA for that matter is not good for jobs in American

So true. If the best tuning key maker is located in germany then why not use that one? These kind of measures will only drive jobs away then create new ones....

BP, so this is indeed one of the reasons for the new "crafted in SLO" logo?

I really don't know who will benefit from this kind of silly legal issue here in California. Maybe only the lawyers. Certainly not California based companies and people who work in those.
