"In the new Guitar World mag"...what would this be, July? I thought that they had it slated for the August issue? (Then again, that's what I get for thinking...)

Care to enlighten VH superfan #99 here? :)

I believe it is August but Subscribers already received it--they get theirs early.

Steve Howe looks strangely similar to Mr Burns...but tore it up on the Yes tour this year.

Yeah, but Steve Howe looked like a long haired Mr. Burns when he was 20.

One of my favorites though...

Great photos! Ed does look a little scary. But I'm sure he's just happy to be alive and playing again. And I bet he can still kick butt!

See my posted thread "More VH ''leaks'..." to hear the 2 new songs, "Up For Breakfast" and "Learning to See" (great song, btw). Dude is going nuts on these 2 new songs.

The boy can still play, teeths or not. ;)

I picked up the Guitar World with the interview - good interview with some fan questions which is where the Howard Stern question came up.

BTW: Eddie does not smile showing his teeth so he likely has lost them.

RE: Eddie's teeth

Maybe Valerie got them in the settlement.:D

Oops. I mean:)

KEITH;)

Maybe she got them to give to Dan Rather?----I think that was the old farts name she was in love w/. By the way, w/ the dental field being so advanced these days why can't Ed get dentures/implants/bridge etc..? I know the choice is his but why go through life gumming food, and not being able to sing/talk properly? ---not to mention not being able to take photogenic pictures.

Look at some of these pics (#'s 1, 7, and 8 specifically)...you can see teefs.

Also, drop by 2dorks.com and listen to the "talks" that Dwyer and Michaels had with EVH pre-reunion announce...then try to say some of those things that he said (albeit, his a** was drunk/had been drinking, etc.) out loud.

Woulthn't yyou neeth theeth to say somph oph deess ssssyllables? :)

(trans: Wouldn't you need teeth to say some of these syllables?)

Here's some video linkage from the rehearsal, courtesy of Reuters - you may have to go to the entertainment section to see it, and I dunno if it's still online (it was earlier this week):

Regarding Ed's teeth: not that I'm a dental expert/hygenist or anything, but he's always kinda had a not-so-healthy-looking set of choppers if ya ask me, most likely due to all the smokin' and drinkin' (until she got breast cancer, my poor mom smoked a pack a day for over 40 years and hers are highly and permanently stained like his looked, last I noticed).

From the floor to stage level pics I've seen in the past, it looks like his tooth/jaw curvature ratio has been kinda sharp anyway, so maybe combined with the natural effects that aging and genetics has on one's face, perhaps it's just more extreme-looking than we've seen before.

I do hope he's not back on the sauce again, though musicians publically falling off the wagon's not unheard of or a surprise to anyone (i.e. Weiland, Ozzy). If true, I wonder if that had anything to do with his divorce with Val?

EVH's dental/mental health aside, I'm glad to see he's out there again, at least. Those two other new tracks are far better than the first, as I'd hoped. Still not a huge fan of that midrangey new tone of his, tho... :(

Not a fan of the new tone either. What ever became of "the brown sound"? The new tone is a different kinda brown sound, if you know what I mean.

Good one GlockAxis! You do bring up a good point - the Wolfgangs and 5150s are the same equipment he had 6 years ago.

In the GW interview he said he took control of the recording, engineering and mastering of the tracks - maybe its the way it has been recorded, not the guitar and amps etc
