New Fretless! *w/Pics*

I picked up a matching fretless for my Satin Finish Natural Ray. It is a three ban, unlined Ray with transitional bridge and old style battery cover. I got it from Grasshopper and Gard at BC. They are some great folks and this is my first BC purchase. Pictures to come but I used it tonight on my jazz trio gig and it was swonderful.

Got home from work at 5 and UPS had just dropped it off. Opened the cae, took of the old nasty Chromes tht were on it and put a set of TI's on it. After I got to the gig, I did a quick setup and used it for the first two sets and it was a dream. :)

Here are the pics as of today

Tell me, at least, that you beat Gard up on the price.

They are purdy good people to deal with. I was talking to Gard a couple of years ago on a bass, and I called the shop and asked to speak to Gard. "Can I help you?" the guy says, as Gard was busy.

"Well, I'd kind of like to speak to Gard", I said.

"I'm Beaver, and I own the place, so maybe I could help you out, too", he said.

I allowed as to how that was probably true, and he did.

Heh heh.

The guys at Bass Central are great. Beaver gave me a smokin deal on the Single H Bongo.

Congrats on the rare finish Scott.

And thanks for the e-mail. Hope you got my reply today.

Sweet bass. If there is ever a non-Bongo MM that I'd like to own, it's that one. Perfection in it's most natural, simple form.

When you say TIs, which set do you mean? Flats?

I just put a set of Sadowsky flats on my fretless Bongo, and it sounds better than it ever has. I'm not quite sure what I was waiting for...

Enjoy the new bass! I'm sure it has plenty of other nice MMs to keep it company.

I've completely lost track with what you've recently picked up/let go. how about a brief (HA) recap?

:D

Awesome bass!

Gard hooked me up on my Stingray too...

:D

I really like the EB Slinky original rounds
on my Fretless SR5 / Piezo
and Maple SR5 / Piezo

I'm searching for another 'range of Zoundz'

I almost ordered a Bongo HP5 the other day -
& something held me back ...

This morning the answer surfaced -
I don't really want/need a Bongo HP5 (yet :-)

What I DO want/need is a Fretless Bongo HSP5

Pls tell me a bit more about
TI and Sadowsky rounds and flats on your Bongo ...

Depending on knob twiddling
are you getting 'whinez' or 'groans' from the Bongo flats

& what is the Sadowsky sound (compared to TI) all about for you

/R
