Well, sort of....found a nice Ray 5 at the Naperville , Il store after they told me they had no clearance MM basses!

But just an amazing lack of any sort of great deals out there, and not just MM mind you. Their idea of clearance prices now vs. say a year or two ago?

I have seen some real clearance prices out there. San Jose, Ca store is blowing out SR5's that are on the list.

Some stores in the past never seem to put EBMM basses on clearance.

Glen, can GC managers opt out of the list for their stores?

No, if the gear is not priced correctly it is probably an over site at the store level.

The last clearance was all 18 month and older gear in their inventory. This new clearance starts at 12 month and older with a less dramatic discount. the older the gear the larger the discount. If you call around to some of the stores on the list you will find a wide range of discount based on the age of the instrument.

I went on the hunt for a close out 25th. Called probably 6 stores. Everyone was polite and helpful, but only 1 or 2 stores actually knew what I was talking about when I referenced this close-out. I had to educate all the other stores sales folks about the specific instruments hanging on their walls that were reduced. Unfortunately, the close-out prices did not quite meet my strike price and I did not bite.

Glen -- If we could get a 15% off coupon for the forum members, I would pull the trigger on the 25th. Sort of like their GC Labor Day offer. Any hope?

50% off would really work if you want to move the scratch and dent stuff out and get some new models in like Bongo, Big Al, Reflex. Like a car lot would do. People want to try the new models out and they have to be in all your stores. Ernie Ball could be selling lots of new instruments if GC, the largest place to try out "new" products had them available. You carry the new stuff from the other manufactures, why not MM?
