isnt the bfr jp neck finished cause its mahogony??

Yes, but there was a run of BFR's with the all rosewood neck.

Sorry to hear you did not take to the finished neck. It happens. Return it and get the rosewood neck if you can or the standard JP. Those are beasts and still are. Up to you. Not all models fit me either....play what you feel fits you best.

It's unfortunate that your first impression is that of disappointment, but you really should give it some more time. I can't believe the finished neck is that much of a deal breaker. I've played guitars with both finished and unfinished necks...it's really not that earth shattering of a transition.

To be honest, I personally disagree. Nothing compares to the unfinished neck.

I think it's nuts to sweat for 8 months for a guitar and then dismiss it right away. But hey, get what you want.

No pics, doesn't exist. Stories are made up all the time. I don't read the ones without pics.

There are no EBMM dealers that carry stock in my entire STATE! Closest is 1000kms away. Hasnt stopped me ever. If I havent played a particular model I usually buy off ebay used so if I dont like it I can sell it back without losing any money. If I like it i'll keep it or be assured that when I order a new one it will have no surprises. Seriously, if you thought about it there are ways to not be let down and lose money.

davis music in footscray has them. i think thats the only one in victoria that has em. they have a fair few as well, they had a y2d, 2 lukes, 2 JPs and a few axes (haha axes, guitar grammar anyone?)

It took me a good two weeks to get comfortable with my JP6 back when I bought it. I decided to play it exclusively so that I wouldn't be comparing it to the feel of other guitars that I'd been playing for years.

After 2 weeks I decided that the others wouldn't do.

 Jeez, you were so excited to be getting the BFR. Don't send it back yet. Give it some time. You haven't even had time to bond with it yet.

Definitely agree with giving it bonding time. I remember it took me a few days realize the awesomeness that is the JP neck :):p. I even played a bfr a while back with the finished neck and it was superb.

I TOTALLY agree with this statement .....the UNfinished neck is THE reason i started to play EBMM ...and the Quality of the Instrument SOLD ME ... but if the Al's started coming with Painted necks ,and no option for unfinished...I'd be OUT!....seriously ...I would just buy used ones......I can play a ton of other guitars with finished necks ...but i dont ...because i LOVE EBMM necks.....Its a JP thing anyways ...so im good!

x3.

That is why even though the JP is my favorite guitar on the planet, I dont want a BFR (even for the same price).
