Hey gang well its been a couple of years since i had any new Balls to speak of....really had GAS for 2 things a BFR AL and my Silo back(Traded a Blue Dawn Sparkle 24 fret Silo for a Sparkly Bass)......i was really missing the versatility of the silo at our weekly Jam .......and the beauty of the BFR AL had be BAD........So i traded away a RARE 1 off Sparkly Axis to a fellow forumite for This Beautiful AL BFR ....i am BLOWN AWAY BY THE QUALITY OF THIS BEAST!!!!!......sounds very different from my Sparkly AL ....mostly because the sparkly AL is 8 years old and the BFR has the Toneblock and the Maple cap Brighter more twang and snap.......just a fantastic guitar THANK YOU FING for a VERY well kept guitar ....he wanted a trem and i NEED hardtails so it worked out for both of us!!
The day after i got the BFR i had to go to Halifax(about 2 hours from me).....for sales meetings for 3 days ...so i did my usual stop at the music stores and pawn shops ....i asked if they had any EBMM's they said a few basses but no Guitars (AS USUAL)......on the way out in a rack of 6 other guitars i saw a glint of a sparkly guitar ....then i notice the headstock ....Needless to say it went with me....1 owner ....the neck was dirty but NO FRET WEAR and no divots in the fretboard ....tuners were as stiff as the day it came in ....2 little dings in the finish but shes a keeper ....home she went a new set strings a board cleaning and a polish and an email to DAN
Heres what he said
"there were only 4 made in the Silhouette in that finish ... out of those, 1 has piezo/maple, 1 has a rosewood fretboard/matching headstock, 1 has a rosewood board/plain headstock (that would be yours), and the last a solid maple neck. So, no two are alike out of the 4 ... nice!"
Dan
so now my Silver Albert has another rare girl beside her......i guess Karma has a way of coming round and it sure did for me on this one ,.....i had to let a prized 1 off Axis go to get my BFR but the EBMM guitar Gods knew it killed me and replaced it with a guitar that i LOVE the neck on and can play for more than an hour hahahahahaha ok thanx for the long read the space and the friendship you guys and gals offer!!
