Hi Guys..just thought I would give you my first update regarding the new demo position..well before things get started I have to choose a selection of instruments to take out on the road for clinics and demos. Although I have a large collection of EBMM guitars, many are custom built for me, or have been modded, due to my passion for seaking out new tones, and my own preferences. To give you an idea, I acctually own 3 original Sports, A Trans Gold one, with 2 Humbuckers, and a scratch plate, an original MM90, minus the scratch plate, although I modded this guitar by adding the DiMarzio DLX plus in the bridge, just for a little bite and output; plus its a humbucker in P90's clothing, so its quiet...This guitar was the inspiration for my custom build fixed bridge Supersport, (you can see pics of it in one of the albums on my profile). I also have a NAMM show prototype Axis Sport, which is HSS, with a scratch plate, but it doesnt have a tone control, where as the production ones did. I also have first generation Petrucci's,6 and 7 string..My 7 string was the actual guitar reviewed in Guitar World. As well as this I have other modded guitars, including my main Supersport, my Chrome Axis, and my Black Silo Special. Thats not to say I dont play standard guitars; I have a new standard Supersport, Humbuckers, with trem and piezo. I also have a stunning Blue Axis with a Floyd, plus a white Silo Special and an Albert Lee, all fitted with single coils but over 10 years old...and well used...and lets not forget my stunning BFR white Double Neck, and my original EVH!!...I love my collection...
But Nick Clubb and I have selected some guitars that will be used for the up and coming in stores and demos.I shall use my new Axis Supersport, plus my Blue Floyd Axis and my BRF Double Neck. New guitars we are adding include a Luke, Y2D Steve Morse, a Black Albert Lee with 2 Humbuckers and a Rose Wood neck, a JPX 6, plus a more up to date Silo Special. What do you guys think?....what would you like to see/hear me demo on clinics and also videos? We shall obviously be adding a Game Changer asap!!...So come on guys..what are your thought?...do you think this selection shows a wide enough variety of the many instruments available?...your thought?.. Jamie Humphries
PS..I forgot to mention I visited Blackstar amps HQ in Northampton today and filmed a new video for a secret new product being launched this wednesday...The video shall be on youtube on wednesday, and I'll post it here when i return from Frankfurt. For the demo I used my original 6 string Petrucci, demoing clean, crunch and lead tones. I havent used that guitar in anger for a while, but I have to say it was so inspirational..cant wait to get a more up to date model!!!...God i hate my job..LOL
