It's also very old for an EB. The finish is sinking and browning out nicely, much like an old f****r. The serial number is stamped into the wood on the back of the headstock, 88246, any idea what year it is? The neck has nice birdseye, but isn't at all over the top, I like it that way. It's also a six bolt neck, never seen one of those before.

That's quite a find in that condition; it's one of the earliest Silhouettes, Jake - I would guess 1985-87... They only used the Schaller trem for the first couple of years, so it's an early one alright... They were using Schaller pickups until 1988... What kind of tuners are on it?

Well, tore it all the way down last night to block the trem and do a full set-up. To answer the question about the tuners, they are the older style non-locking Schallers, stamped "made in west germany". Neck is stamped Aug. 88, body has two stamps, the 20th, and 21st. of Sept, 1988. Don't know for sure what the pickups are, but I can't see how anybody would think they were Duncans, the guy at Dave's must have been smoking somthing :D . They have staggered pole pieces, black plastic bobbins, and black and white leads. Except for the staggered poles, they look suspiciously like older American Standard pickups. I don't know how much of the electronics are actually original, there's been alot of solder work done in there. It has what looks like a brand new CRL switch, and two 250K CTS pots. I will probably clean everything off and re-wire at some point, it looks like it was soldered by a kindergardener on a sugar rush. All in all though, I am VERY happy with the guitar. The smaller body is going to take some getting used to, but I will figure it out. With a fresh set of 11's, and the trem blocked, it's playing nice and stiff, and sustains for days. Oh, inside the trem cavity, and the neck cavity, the color name is marked, but I can't read it, it's too blurry. I can tell that it says "___________ Turq" But that's it. I am guessing this means ________ Turquoise. If anyone knows the full name of the color, I would like to know what it is.
