Nice hat Mark but certainly nicer ax! So what do you think of the neck? Not a lot has been discussed on this but I love the feel of the finish as does everyone I know that has one. Gives a whole new feel to an EB guitar and in a weird way has a feel all its own, plus with the ebony board it is just great to play. Nothing like the classic EB unfinished neck but this was a great option, and for those who still never played one it does not seem like it is going to be a regular thing at least take one for a ride and you will see what I mean.

Yes

I was somewhat comprehensive about the finished neck. Had not played it (I have not seen them around here) but decided to take the plunge thinking that I could easily offload it if I didn't like it.

But, I really really love the feel of the neck. You feel it has a finish, but it's still as smooth as the unfinished necks are. I don't prefer one over the other. I would also recommend anyone that has a chance to take one for a ride. You won't be dissapointed.

As for the ebony. That is awesome as well. Really smooth, I'm liking it alot. Seems to be a bit brighter than rosewood (not that it's like a trebleboost or something, but it has more sparkle I think.)

As for the hat. I just don't have a hat-head I think. Most hats look silly on me. As does this one (in my opinion at least). But it's got a a nice place in my musicroom, and my daughter seems to like it alot, as she has been wearing it all day today
