Jamie,

Wow, that's awesome, great tone and skill as always!

I picked up a copy of your album a month or so ago having been aware of your association with EBMM for a long time and, more recently, your promo work with Blackstar (which also prompted me to pick up an HT pedal to run with my Axis Sport into my kit-built amp head). Everyone who's heard it has loved it so keep up the good work!

Cheers,

Neil

Yeah the Black Silouette was put togther for a me about three years ago when I was doing the Aussie Pink Floyd show in the USA..it was black, in honour of Gilmour, and Steve Blutcher matched some different pickups in it..area 57 and 61, I think, in the mid and neck and an FS1 hotrail in the bridge..it has piezo as well...My main ASS in the Nashville song video has 36Anniversary pafs...I have a total of 13 EBMM guitars..lots of Axis, old sports too, and an original EVH, Petrucci's, an Albert Lee, and 2 silo specials.. I have an amazing custom made ASS with MM90'd, with a DLX plus in the bridge, plus an old Ash sport with the same config...i also have a BFR double neck...My guitars rule...they are my family:D Jamie

Jamie just want to say I loved the playing and the song. It is just one giant pool of talent over there at the Library. I stumbled upon the site back in 03 and have been a member since. Would just like to thank all you guys for having the premiere learning site, and though I am in NY I feel like I know you guys personally by know.lol Keep up the great work.

Jamie, that is excellent!!! Damn you do have quite the collection , nice to see.

I love the Axis Sports, I've had 3 total, I only have 1 now and absolutely love it, mine has MM90's as well, very fitting for the guitar IMO.

I love showing this thing off, Copper Pink Sparkle:

Hey Jamie, how do you find the characteristics in those PAF 36th pups I thinking about putting the bridge pup in my Axis Super Sport Rosewood... not extremely woody sounding?... and just wondering, how do you think the rosewood top with this pup would sound rather then the Maple?

I just put some of these in a Les Paul, and love them. I will be trying them in my Rosy ASS in a few weeks, I have an F-spaced bridge pup on order. I *love* the neck pup, it has real airy, complex thing going that I like with great overtones. It's the best neck pup I've ever had in my LP, hands down.

The bridge tends towards a P-90-ish sound. It's got a bit of zip to it.

They are very lively and actually have a lot of zing to them, and clean up great. The guys on the Les Paul forums have been pretty positive about them, comparing them favorably to boutique PAFs, which is what got my interest. I figured if the cork-sniffers approved of a DiMarzio, I had to check them out.

I'm looking for a little more presence at lower-gain clean settings from my Super Sport, especially in the middle pickup selector position, which I use a lot for the blues I play. I'm gigging the Les Paul this coming weekend, so I'll check them out and report back.

Man I'm actually really digging the reviews I have seen and I actually want one for my rosewood super sport as well but wasn't sure if the darker wood would fit right with the sound... Even hardtail models have an F-spaced bridge humbucker right? Oh and did you have to order Long or Short legs on the pup... sorry I am just getting into pickup experimentation and don't know much about direct body mount style guitars like the ASS...

I read on this forum that the hardtails were F-spaced, so that's what I ordered. Hope that's right :)

The set I got came with short legs, I didn't have to specify. I'm just gonna start with the bridge as I dig the neck pup in the Axis. But I might try the set eventually as I really like the sound with both pups on my LP. The F-spaced pups are backordered at GC's website, supposed to ship next week, I'll post when I get it in.

EBMM should really consider these as an option on the new AL HH's, as these sound great with mahogany.
