Congrats and really nice playing, I definitely found that interesting. I am not big on theory though I taught myself enough to get by. I am figuring that the key would be F Dorian and by dropping down a whole step the G pentatonic would be using the notes from G Phrygian minus two notes, is that correct? If it is then I guess that C pentatonic could also be used as it would also be minor in the key of Eb as it would be Aeolian minus two notes. Okay now I have to pick up a guitar and see if this all pans out lol. Wow that opened my mind up.

Hi Cat,

Yes, that is correct. Basically if you are playing over an Fm chord, and are in the Dorian Mode ... there are 3 minor pentatonic scales you could use: Fm Pentatonic, Gm Pentatonic and Cm Pentatonic. All sound cool ... The Gm Pentatonic is particularly colorful because it has all three extensions 9,11,13!
