Theres more and more sightings and mention of new L4 appearing in different places so I thought id start a thread dedicated to it.

Feel free to post any sightings, speculation, or wish lists for the L4.

Firstly, we've seen an SSS version.

I hope there will still be a humbucker version. And wish it come with stainless steel frets. I wish they keep the compact body size.

I want that metallic red one, 2HB, and SS frets would be awesome, especially since they are so small to begin with...

New to this forum and I’ve recently got GAS for a Luke guitar after never having owned or played a music man guitar. Not crazy about the current colors or finishes. But that plum purple or a sharp red color with HSS I think would get my ticket! Someone mentioned a red one above but it’s hard to tell from the photo. The plum purple is much cooler than the fuschia sparkle in my opinion

Welcome to the forum!
The great thing about Music Man guitars is that you can order them blind and not have to worry about liking them.
You can pretty much go by the specs and choose which neck/fretboard radius you think you'll love best, and it's pretty much almost always a win.
A lot of us are hoping for better color options throughout the range. Years ago you could pretty much choose from a dozen color options for each model. These days you get like 2. So if you don't like those 2; then you're pretty much waiting for like 1 to 3 years for the next offerings.
NAMM is next month, so hopefully they have something you'll love.

I never understood why they don’t jsut offer all finish options for one specific model? It always gets broken down into separate models. Not just EBMM it’s every company. And wait are you saying I can choose a different neck/fretboard radius for the Luke guitars? I’ve only seen the stock options available

No. I was just saying that someone new to EBMM should choose a model based on what their neck/fretboard preferences are, then take it from there.

Oh yes normally I would agree but I like the pickups on the Luke guitars and that style fits me better for the music I play. Plus the preamp boost is very appealing to me. But ultimately you’re right, if i don’t like the neck then I won’t like the guitar. And I’ve heard very mixed things about the Luke guitar necks

the only mixed filling I have about my Lukes necks: if L2 neck is the best feeling neck in the world or it is L3 neck after all :)

Id like to think a combination of the pearl from the original lukes with the sparkle of the newer luke would be nice.

Sparkle pearl red and sparkle pearl blue.

Obviously that new plum color has gained some fans.

I'm not a fan of fully-plastic-covered pickups, but then I've never been an EMG guy anyway.

I love the red, would prefer chrome/nickel HH like previous Lukes, and if I get one it'll be getting Transition pickups most likely. I do really like that red one (I almost bought a fuchsia sparkle, which I still dig (and still prefer to whatever that plum is above), but that red L4 is pretty cool...
