NEW Lukather rig rundown (L IV)

It's mostly about his pedalboard, but at the end they go over his #1, which is the Luke IV prototype bareback, it actually says LIII on the headstock...

btw he said there is no push-pull on the guitar, or did he meant tone knob specifically as he was pointing on the tone knob.

Yeah, I'm not sure... Gosnell has done 3 "rig rundowns" now, and he's not the clearest about some stuff. The interviewer was asking specifically about coil splits (because someone assumed the bridge pickup on the SSS was a stacked humbucker, which it is not), and that's when Gosnell said "no push-pull". The IV models still have the push-push volume boost.

I don't think any Lukes have had coil splits, except of course for the HH models which split the coils with the 5-way switch to get strat tones.

Anyway...happy to see the evolvement of the pedal board. L4 Bareback is my favorite Luke, the lack of any paint makes it bright and resonance. Would love to see more figured wood models in the future.

I will probably regret, but well… it’s Friday after all :) It’s not like it’s unfinished :) it’s only missing a fraction of micron of a base coat at best, so not sure finish has anything to do with its being resonant :)

I love the bareback finish, if they had a HH model, I might have bought it instead of the LukeIII I found (and love).
