I often wonder why the artists don't just have a rack full of all different EBMM's. There's alot of tools in the EBMM toolbox. Who wants to play just one anyway?

I knew BP would check into this thread and bang some reality into it. There's some things I love about my LUKE. There's a couple of things I wish were different. Hey if I was a famous session player for 30+ years I could work with EBMM and design my own exactly the way I want it - but I'm not - such is life and I'm happy with the guitar options we have now.

I love that BP will keep us in the loop! I love the Luke body shape but would totally be interested in passive humbuckers in there. While I doubt Luke would go that different, it would be interesting and appealing to me.

Personally, my mind wonders about prototypes . . .

mahogany body luke, 25th pups and rosewood neck

BFR luke with chambering, 25th pups and rosewood neck

anyone seeing a pattern here? ;)

I could go on all day, though! I hope BP lets us in on some of the possibilities Luke is considering!

Very interesting. Last summer when BP, Luke, John Ferraro and Steve Morse did the GC run, Luke sounded absolutely amazing when he was playing the 25th. Weird to see him with any other guitar, but dare i say he sounded even better to my ears with that 25th...and I am a diehard Luke guitar fan (currently own 7)!

So it will be interesting to see if any new Luke guitar incorporates some of what the 25th has.

On a side note, its been 3 years since my last NGD...so we'll see what magic happens with the design, feel and tone of the new one should it see the light of day and hit the streets

7?! Do you have a camera to take a group shot? Here in Holland I think I'm kind of extraordinary owning 2 of them haha!

sorry for my limited knowledge..

is ebmm luke body smaller than other model(silo and JP)?as i recall it's in the same size with other ebmm model(beside the 25 and jpx) no?

what i kinda miss in my guitars (all of them are luke) is the neck humbucker.. anyone have an idea/experience on how to get humbucker-ish neck sound in ebmm?

thanks

BP, you crack me up! I'm glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read that. :)

It's been three years for me, too, since NGD.

This is *not* a wish list or me trying to suggest or influence what a new Luke guitar should be, but just pure speculation on my part, assuming the HB thing is true. My guess is a 24-fret version of the maple/alder/mahogany Luke, with an EMG 85X for the neck pickup: basically the 20th Anniversary Silhouette with a Luke neck, fretwire, and radius (but 24 frets) and the EMGs instead of the DiMarzios. But it's hard to imagine as he's been using single coils for sooooo long now, and he's such a fan of Jeff Beck.

the body on the Luke is not smaller than any other EBMM actually it's very similar to the Silo Spec body. Nevertheless the body is smaller than traditional Strat

As for neck humbucker sound with a Luke I think you can use some pedals to boost the signal (I'm thinking about Seymour Duncan as I think they have something like that in their range of products)

thank you very much for the info david, i am trying to find out more about this pedal thing.

btw have you had any info about the difference of matching the pedal with active or passive pick ups?

it's said that passive pick ups is recommended, what would be the difference?
of note
For Resonance Switch to work properly, the SFX-01 must be first in the signal chain using passive pickups and a standard guitar cable -- not a wireless unit.

thanks!
