Imagine the increased output PLUS the increased output of a Bongo 18v pre? Wow, that will be insane!

Any particular thoughts on the tone we should expect vs Slinkies & Cobalts?

I never break strings, so I don't think I'll stray from the Cobalts, but on guitars, well there strings breaking less easy would be nice.

I'm disturbed, thought I think louder output and strongest material are cool.
I would like to know how they affect the sound to understand the differences with cobalt ones.
My first concern on string always have been lifetime, I never broke an ernie ball string on musicman guitars.
A big wait and see, for future change ?

Brian had me try them out today with a 25th (m steel) and Reflex (slinky). The plain steels had the biggest difference, with the m steel being louder, fuller, and more responsive. I'm sold.

I believe the actual term they used at NAMM was break resistant....or something similar....not break proof.

Just for guitar right now - The plain steel strings are M-Steel and the tonal difference compared to regular plain steel strings is huge. The wound strings are cobalt wound on an M-steel core and the tonal difference isn't as noticeable.
