Hey guys and gals,

I just sent my last payment to a buddy of mine for his EBMM JPXI 6 string. He had the back of the neck professionally sanded down to Matte. VERY excited. I've been wanting a JP for a very long time. Being a luthier myself, I have always been drawn to Ernie Ball for the craftsmanship and quality. It is great to finally be a part of this forum! Woohoo! I'll post better pics when the guitar shows up on Monday.

Mods, I'm not sure if there are pic size requirements, but please fix if that's the case!

Wow! Beauty! It looks like the neck sanding turned out well, and you are so right, EBMMs are quality built all the way.

Thanks for not making us beg on the pics :)

Welcome.

my only gripe with my jp is the finished neck. Love the gunwax oil treated neck on my Axis. I think i may explore what you did with getting the neck sanded down

Welcome to the forum! Yup, we expect detailed pics -- especially of that neck!

Thanks man, I think so too! Does anyone know if the SLO HQ gives tours? I'd love to check it out.

I love this guitar, but I might actually sell it :(

I never use the trem. An Albert Lee might be in my future. Do you guys think $1800 would be fair? Might throw it on eBay.

Welcome to the forum...beautiful Ball Family Reserve in the most amazing color.

Why sell it? Just because you have a trem, doesn't mean you have to use it.

+500!

If you've bonded with the neck AT ALL, then block the trem and forget about it.....

This is very true. I love the guitar. I'm torn. :(

The neck is awesome but I'm on the fence. I've been wanting an Albert Lee for quite some time. I also have my eye on another guitar in addition to the Albert Lee. The GAS is bad.

Wow that's an intriguing mod. I've seen the guys on the bass side do that to their bongos but usually they take them down to the wood.

One of the great things about a guitar is that it is a tool you can modify so that it better suits your needs.

Agreed! It was professionally done so it just looks like a Matte Onyx finish, pretty cool. Feels great.
