Hi all! I just received my very first Music Man guitar, a JP6 in Red burst. It's a wonderful guitar and I'm loving every minute of it. I'm playing my first gig with it this weekend. It's awesome!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I suppose I should have posted a bit about myself. I've been playing guitar in some form since I was 14. I'm now 35, married with two kids.

About 10 years ago I started playing more regularly and my fantastic wife purchased me my first Martin acoustic guitar. About the same year I picked up a MIM Strat. In the last year i've started a weekly jam with 3 other co-workers and now we've formed a "band". (Our first gig is tomorrow at an outdoor movie night party!)

Recently, I did some side work and got a little extra cash. I played a bunch of guitars at the local music store. I was looking for something with a peizo pickup in the bridge. When the guy at the store put a JP in my hand I fell in love. I went home and thought it over (I have a 24 hour rule on large purchases) and came back to the store the next day to buy it. Unfortunately they had already sold it and it was their last one!

Luckily they were able to order me another one from Ernie Ball and luckily EB had the exact model with color I wanted in stock! They say you don't find the guitar, it finds you, I now truly believe it!

This is my favorite macro shot of the guitar. I love the touch of the Music Man emboss on the bridge:

Nice to see a happy man........

That's the only trouble with the 24 hr rule... when you come back it's gone !

I used to do that but now decided life is too short and sometimes just gotta fly by the seat of my pants and do it now !! So if I want it... I get it. If I find after a while it was a mistake and was niot for me then move it on. Might take a small hit but shouldn't lose too heavy.

I fell in love with a Morse Y2D with the most gorgeous finish (even better than the one I eventually got) but bottled it and dithered and yep, it went. Learnt my lesson the hard way.

You were lucky things turned out good so quick. That not always the case.

Well done with yr JP (i have one the same so am biased)

Cheers Baz
