welcome to the pond, brother :)

That guitar looks killer......keep the Black Ice PG in a safe place if you take it off from the Morse. But I doubt you will....this looks much cooler in reality  I know what I'm talking about ;)

Funky Chicken you bring up a good point and I agree 100% with you. The original finish does not do the guitar any justice, and the minute you see it in another it pops right out at you. I think Steve is one of the greatest players on the planet, probably because he is.lol But I never even thought of looking into his ax till I saw it in the Y2D finishes, and wound up with a Purple Sunset.

It's funny how different tastes are. :)

The blueburst finish of this guitar was the single thing that draw me to Steve Morse, his playing and all. Before I even heard him, I saw a picture of him with the Nr.1 on the booklet of DP's "Live at the Olympia". When I first saw both that guitar (in a guitar store in Cologne), and Steve live, I was totally blown away by how gorgeous it was. I still believe no other Morse looks better than the original blueburst finish - and I' m very happy to own a blueburst Morse.

Having said that - I've had a gunsmoke Morse with floyd years ago, and it was a very attractive instrument.

Just my 2 cents, of course

I think the blueburst is pretty sweet, actually. I was under the impression that this (my new) Morse was in fact blueburst itself until the seller sent pics.

I'm not disappointed by the orange at all - in fact I think it's rad - but I was pretty surprised!

Orange Firemist is cool as hell, I think. Love the Black Ice pickguard on it too. I join the chorus of people saying that. Also, I join the chorus of people saying that they'd be interested in your guitar if you don't like it. Congrats!

I love both : the color and the pickguard (would fit an Albert perfectly :) )

I think the color is Lava Pearl

Hey Adam,

Very glad to see you here. Great bunch of guys who really know their stuff. Congrats on the Morse. You made a great purchase. As for the switching, it might be intimidating at first; but it's actually very logical and easy to learn. Enjoy the guitar!

Thanks Butch! This seems like a great place. Though probably a bit more restrained topically than the SDUGF, the active participation from Mr. Ball himself is as exceptional for it's uncommonness as it is for the accessibility it grants the consumer. That part would be worth the price of admission alone....

Can easily be a trick of the light but comparing it with slavs lava pearl and against my orange firemist AL I would say the lava gets it.

will be interesting once all is revealed.

Cheers
