Hello everyone! Been lurking on the forums a while, just wanted to introduce ourselves and hopefully become more active in the online community. :)

My wife (Kim) and myself (Joe) are guitar hobbyists located in the Tampa area of Florida, (she's been playing much longer than I have). I've played guitar off and on over the past ten or so years, she's been playing for closer to fifteen years. We're both into rock/metal genres, me more classic rock like Pink Floyd/Led Zeppelin and early Metallica, Kim leaning more to Van Halen-era.

Kim's first EBMM experience was back in 1991 when she reserved and purchased her Purple quilt EVH, which she played and adored for many years before being offered a ridiculous amount of money for it.

Fast-forward many years and guitars, and we find Kim playing an Ibanez JS1000, and wanting something else. After some soul-searching, it was either purchase another purple EVH, or buy a new EBMM Axis. Knowing that any any EVH besides her original just wouldn't be the same, we recently placed an order for an AXIS BFR, with the amethyst quilt top. It's due to be delivered November 1st. :D

We have a few guitars, the aforementioned Ibanez JS1000 Black Pearl, an ESP Kirk Hammet KH-2, and a Schecter Damien FR. Depending on who gets home first, one of us hooks up to an EVH 5150 III halfstack, and the other is left to a Line-6 75W consolation prize (Kim works 15 minutes from home, I've got a 45 minute drive, you do the math).

Anyhoo, see you all around the forums, and we'll be sure to post plenty of pictures as soon as our BFR shows!

Welcome to the forum - this place gets a bit addictive, and we'd all love to see pictures of your of your EB when it arrives.
Any pics of the original EVH?

Welcome! Guess it's cool if you want another guitar she has to get one too,.....however, that could get expensive. Shoes are cheaper ( most of them anyway) !! I had to buy my wife a drum-set because she wanted to learn ( my step-daughter is playing them more than her right now), so actually a guitar probably would have been cheaper. Take it easy!

" Welcome.
I used to think guitars were like girlfriends, you wanted as many as you could get.
Now, they're like a wife, you gotta get rid of one, before you can get another one.
Sounds like you've beaten the system . . congratulations. " M.S.
