Just picked up a EB Music Man Sub 1 with 2 humbuckers and 2 point trem. Pickups were missing but just installed Dimarzio Super Distortion in bridge and an Evo in the neck. This guitar screams. I have Kramers and Charvels and the neck on the Sub 1 is so comfortable. Previous owner refinished the neck, removed the paint and finished with tung oil. Super smooth. What a great find. Pics to come shortly.

Thank you. I have never heard of this model before. Are these hidden jems are just run of the mill. By the markings it seems to be made in the US.

As far a I know the idea behind the SUBs was to produce US-Instruments for a reasonable price. But at some point it didn´t work for the price they were calling and it was discontinued. Try a serch. There are threads about it

The SUB1s were made in the US for a few years in the mid-00s and then were discontinued. There were also SUB basses as well. They are good guitars with really nice pickups.

Lots of folks do mods on them like your guitars previous owner did.
