Yeah OC, I'd love to know that as well. I've asked a coupla times and last I heard EB hasn't decided yet.

When I saw Steve and the Dregs in San diego on Jan 21, He played the zebra edition. The night before he played one with only black coils/no binding. I asked him about the new guitar at the San Diego meet and greet.

He talked about the tone of the guitar being different to his ears, didn't mention the neck (which I think might be a bit different according to promo) and Steve asked me if I like the zebra coils?

Figuring he wanted the truth, I told him I much prefer the all black or all cream to the zebra. Why detract from the quilt on that thing which I've always felt zebras do.

By the way, this was right after I gave him a nice hand sized multi colored glass HAMSA --the hand thing steve use to wear around his neck all those years. Just wanted to give something back for all the years I've been addicted to his music.

Not sure if he promptly trashed it or if he'll hang it at home (hope it's the latter as it cost $70 ;) .

When I handed him the box, he wanted to know if it was ticking. :p

Steve's reply after I gave it to him was

"Wow, I don't think Norm bought me anything."

dollars, or fanta?

It's the currency of the future, you mark my words!

I'm seriously tempted by the new Morse model and seeing as I've recently stopped smoking, I could use the money I'll be saving to treat myself to another EBMM!

I wonder if there will be a handsigned run on the first few models. My JP is handsigned and it would be nice to have a handsigned SM too. Doubt I would be able to get the money (or soft drinks) together that quick, but I can always chance my luck in a few months time.

Sooooo ... I've been nagging all the shops in my area but to no avail. The word seems to be that EB is waiting for Steve to decide if he likes the binding and pickup colours before taking orders.

Their suggestion was .... call back in June

(Yeah right. I'll nag 'em once a month.)

If it turns out no binding and no zebras,

I PLAYED A ROLE, I PLAYED A ROLE!

But if the guitar has only 3 strings, that was norm.

I call twice a day.

All it needs is three strings. That's one for each finger I use. (both hands together)

If anyone cares:
No Binding and Black Pickups
