New POD 2.0 Review

Hi everyone, today is weird because i just got a piece of gear to replace my old one that my girlfriend broke ( by accident)lol! And i must say, they changed everything about it, except the housing, the models are different the effects are different, and I must say Im blown away. The models are VERY dynamic and much more real feeling and sounding! The same could not be said for the pod hd that i bought last year, and returned after a week, i actually did a thread on my horrible experience with the hd. But this this is much different from my old 2.0, i will do some recordings with it soon, line 6 has hit the mark with this one, I really only use it to practice with headphones, but i will try it on my clean channel on my marshall.

I am loving this new version of the old pod 2.0. It looks identical to the old one, but man! These models are top notch, the high gain is so dynamic, not just a crappy fuzz fizz like most digital models , its smooth and percussive, you can feel every little ding and pick of your picking hand, and they have feel of a real tube power section! Pick light, and you get a very light and quiet response, pick hard and it is ballsy, so real feeling, i cant believe it!! I cant afford an axe fx, and would probably buy a real good tube amp if I had the $. But this is great! I will do some recordings soon, i like it SO much better than the pod hd desktop I bought last year( and returned) i did not agree with that piece of kit at all, to many parameters and menu screens to get anything, i could not get a useable tone out if to save my life! But this one is easy, just like my old 2.0, just new brains! The effects are much more real too, but he models and cab sims are great!

Yeah, they still make it new, its different than my old original 2.0. I like it a lot, im still getting used to it. The clean amps sound real good too. They really got that , verge of break up sound.

On a second review, i know miss my old pod, this one just does not feel the same. Im gonna track down an old one.

Lucky for me I just found an old one, its the only one on the used site, they have been increasingly hard to find, but you know when you have a piece of gear for so long, and you count on everyday, then its gone and your like, " what the hell!" Thats what Im going through right now. I just love the old pod amp models, and effects, they got it right the first time, all the hd stuff is garbage, i had an hd bean and I could not get one useable tone. Its like they're not playable, they dont feel real, to picky and fizzy fuzzy, the old models were smooth and liquid but with crunch in the right spot, that old pod has been my go to practice device for ten years, and awesome direct recording! They went off the mark with there newer stuff. I thought i liked it at first, but you should not have to fight with your gear, it should be an extension of your creativity.

I own a POD X3 Live, which I bought new back in 2008. Countless gigs and recording sessions since then.

The fact it also has bass and vocal amps is a plus to me.

I have been using a Line 6 Duoverb for over 10 years. Played 100's of gigs and recording sessions with it.

It just sounds like 'me' when I use it. I have three of them. I hope they last me another 10 years, I would be totally lost without them!

Its all about the feel of it too, not just the sound for me, ive had that pod for ten years ( and it would have lasted forever if my girlfriend had not stepped on the power supply jack) and i just want it back, i never new how lost i would be, its my practice device with headphones, my di device, my tuner, and a host of other things, and it feels real when you play it. I dont know why they changed it, the new one sounds alright, but it does not feel the same, i cant do half the stuff i could do with my old one, and this new one feels to digital, the old one is digital but it felt analog, i the way you could easily dial up tone, each knob did what it said.
