That is an absolute beauty!!!

My take on the mutes? Well, I wish my StingRay had them. I think they make any EBMM look more aggressive, complex, and mechanical. In a cool way, of course. Kinda like a Floyd Rose on a Strat, or a Kahler on a Les Paul, or even a Kahler bass tremolo on a Charvel. I like bells and whistles sometimes. :D

Very very nice... reminds me of the one I foolishly sold a long time ago.... Congratulations! I think the big bridge with the mutes looks always cool.

Bridge mutes??? Instead of the piece of foam I sometimes squeeze under my strings?? Is this an after market add on? Can you swith them on and off or are they always muting the strings???

I am intrigued...

That bridge was used before the current bridge that MM uses. It has thumb screws that adjust the mutes. You can increase/decrease tension...turn them off completely. I've heard a couple reasons they stopped making them. One is that most people don't use mutes, so why the extra expense. The other is that a couple people cut their fingers and they didn't want any lawsuits.

It looks, however, like they are putting that bridge on the new "Vintage" Stingray collection.

Recessed plates rule! It's a must feature on any EBMM I buy now...
