Hello,
I am a new member of the Forum. I as of today, purchased an Ernie Ball Stingray. Would love to hear how great they are and input on the model. Thanks to all.

Hi Big C, and welcome to the forum!

You came to the right place to hear (and share) the praises of the Ray!

Just for future reference, you can post anything that is Ernie Ball/Music Man Bass-related in the "Music Man Basses" forum, and you'll find plenty of reference material there as well.

Enjoy!

I see how it looks that way...I am a new owner and I really do not know that much about the Stingray I bought, other than it plays better than any bass I have ever picked up - is there any site that has all the EB's bass guitars with photos so that I can get an idea of the jargon that goes with my Stingray? i.e., you guys have 5h and es and all that jazz added to the name of your guitar - are there any specifics that go with the Stingrays to differentiate the guitars? Thanks for the input. GB

OBTW Ras....that is a beauty in your avatar photo...:)

Thanks! that's a Stealth Bongo 5HH. that means its a bongo, with the stealth finish(black hardware, pups and rosewood neck, matte black finish), with five strings, and two humbuckers.

Basically, H means single humbucker, HH means double humbucker, HS meand Humucker and Single coil pups.

here's a link to the picture gallery in the basses forum, take a look at some of the basses inside.

Ah, another 'Bama Boy. Like James said, head on over to the EBMM bass forum. I think you'll find quite a number of your fellow 'bama residents to make you feel at home.

Bumpin' for a reason

Wow, having just bought my Stingray, I was sick when, after a lesson on the bass, I drove off after putting my amp. in the car and leaving my Stingray in it's case by my truck in a parking lot for anyone to pick up. Well, I realized the truth after driving about three miles - as I glanced back to give my Stingray that "hey sweetie," look of admiration - I saw, to my illness, the awful truth. Well, I did a donut in the parking lot of a funeral home turning around to race back - only to find the Stingray was gone.:( Friends, I have not shed tears in 15 years but I will tell you honestly I cried like a baby the entire way home. There is a good ending, a honest inidividual returned my Stingray - still in the case. Well, I am not superstitious (spelling?) but I decided to trade in that particular Stingray on another one. So the story has a decent ending - the only difference is the one I now own is a vintage burst and the previous one was blackish with a mother of pearl blue colored center. An amazing begining to what will be a life long relationship between myself and Ernie Ball Stingray bass guitars. :)

Edit: For spelling

WHOA!!!! I'm glad there are honest people in this world. I too have pulled that stunt where leaving the bass by my truck and driving off but I conveniently looked about 15 seconds after I drove off. Glad you still have an EB in your possesion. Great basses they are and will last you a life time. :D
