I'm actually considering buying a Silhouette and doing a neck switcheroo, and then selling the Luke body/Sil neck hybrid. I can live with a Silhouette body as long as I have that wonderful Luke neck!!!

if your gonna try a neck switch, make sure you buy the silhouette special which has the 22 fret neck instead of 24. putting a 24 fret neck on a luke body which is meant for a 22 fret might mess up somethings. also i doubt the neck joints will line up properly since their routed for a different neck.

I read not too long ago that a guy got a custom set of Fralin pickups that were made to fit in those EMG routes. Give Mr. Fralin a call. He can probably hook you up, and you'll be getting a wonderful set of pickups as well.

Yeah, I was looking at pictures of the Silhouettes and noticed the 24 fret neck. I bet a 22 fret Luke neck would have the same neck pocket as a 22 fret Sil though. Oh well, I don't have any cash for a Sil anyway, so it's a moot point.

IMHO you are asking for trouble by switching out the EMG's for passive pups. Also, I spoke with a dealer that tried switching out an axis neck for another axis neck. It doesn't work. About the best thing you would want to do would be to switch the bridge 85 for an 81 if you want a hotter pup there.

I still think a Silhouette body will fit a Luke neck and vise versa. Wish me luck...I'll be sure to post pics when I build the beast.
