New Pearl white Sterling Pickguard for sale

I ordered a Pearl White pickguard for the Sterling I had. It should be coming today from WD Music. I do not have the Sterling so I will not need it. I got it wholesale and will send it to you for $30 shipping included (in USA). (I will not take it out of the original shipping container). They sale it for about $51 I believe.
If no one wants it I will return it for refund. HOwever this is a decent price if you have checked them out.

While I loved it I could not get past all the growl. I was going to put a Bartolini MME in it but decided I could not do that to a brand new guitar no matter how attached I was to the looks, the build, quality, and the feel. I took it back to Guitar Center with the 30 day return policy and got a new Fender American Jazz in Sunset Orange.

While I loved the Sterling, I could not get past all the growl. The Jazz I got has an S-1 switch which puts the pickups in Series for a more P bass sound which I need for some of my stuff. I do not mind growl for the proper stuff that needs it but I could not control it out on the Sterling. With this Jazz, I can do both. I could not afford both basses, However...my next bass when I can afford it WILL be the Sterling. I loved that bass for what it did. I know it sounds crazy but I am strapped for money at the moment. One day I will have both.

the Sterling is definately a mean bass. I know what you're talking about re: the growl. i also have a jazz w/ an s1 switch and I used that for a bit but i eventually missed the sterling growl and grabbed the sterling off the rack

I think if you would of tried flats you might of kept the Sterling. I own an Inca Silver American Jazz and it rocks but my main basses are Music Man's. The main reason I keep around the Jazz is because It was my first nice bass and I just can't part with it.

Yes, flats would have helped, however I am trying my best to sware off them and learn to play with R/W's as I get tired of the dullish flatwound sound after a while. The D'Addario Chromes might have been a choice I guess.
Seriously, as soon as I can afford a second bass I want it to be a Sterling. I was very impressed by the quality, clarity, punch, and feel of the instrument.
It is a 1st class instrument but I can only afford one bass of this caliber at the moment and I am TIRED of settling for less than an EBMM or Fender American. And for what I am doing at the moment this Jazz with an S-1 Series Parallel switch fits the bill.

What type of flats are you using on your MM? I need to try some on my SR5. I want to check out the Sadowsky 5 string flats because they have a taper B. I am hung up on taper B's. The quality of the B string has always been better with a taper B in my opinion.

you gotta do what you gotta do. I'm sure you will love the Jazz Bass. I haven't had a chance to try one with the S-1 switch. It sounds pretty cool.

The TI flats on my SR 5 still growl if I want them to. They don't do the upright sound at all no matter how I eq. For that I still go with my Jazz and Fender 9050 flats. If I got an upright for such things I would never get a Bongo LOL.

Sounds more like you been playing the same Fender flats to make a choice.

Well I could be wrong since I have never played a Sterling but have heard it is an SR 5 minus one string.

Any way the Jazz is good too. I remember some growl on mine with rounds. Just didn't growl like I liked.
