I know about the boost function. It's really cool...the Blue Sky has that as well. What I mean to ask, was lets say you create a loop and keep it going by having the trails mode on and then bypass the delay. I guess first you would have to turn down the mix knob before bypassing the pedal...would the mix knob affect the dry signal as well or could you essentially have a lower level loop playing back and a louder dry signal soloing over that loop. Hope that makes some sense.

I ask this, because with the TC Flashback, if you create a loop and you want to solo over it, but want the solo to stand out more than the loop itself, you cant turn down the loop on its own with the level knob. That knob controls the loop and your overall signal.

Thats a good question....The Mix knob only controls the balance of the dry signal and wet signal. The Mix knob at 3 O'clock is a 50/50 mix. It does not have a volume level knob, So I'm thinking that once you set the Mix knob and set the Sound on Sound. Then you would press Tap & Bypass for the secondary functions and use the + or - boost to set the volume of the Sound on Sound Loop. This pedal has so much. I have no Idea how they packed it all in this small box. I'm playing with it today. So if I find anything else about the Volume control of the pedal. I'll let you know.

Here are the Demo's from the Strymon site regarding Sound on Sound. They don't mention anything regarding volume. It's a bit different from the Flashback in regards to controlling the pedal volume. The only thing that affected the Volume on the Loop was the - + 3d Boost. Hope this helps. It's a fun pedal. I'm getting the Flint next.

I've watched every strymon video of the El Cap. I know that it is definitely above the flashbacks tweakability...tons of parameters to change that you would not even be able to do on a real tape echo/delay. I also really like the immense versatility of the Flashback...I would maybe vote for the flashback if we had our hands on the software. Maybe then you could do something like the El Cap. I'm just a huge fan of the Strymon stuff since I got the Blue Sky. El Cap is next , and maybe the Ola chorus might replace my corona...really sounds amazing. Of course each one is more than your standard pedal, but I think they are totally worth it.
