New Petrucci But...

Hey all, I just received my new guitar and noticed a few things,



1. The low E seemed a bit high ( I'll adjust that on my own )
2. There are no directions regarding the locking tuners ( I've always used a floyd)
3. The guitar came with no tools (allen wrenches for the trem)



The guitar did come with the warranty card, The key to the case, a pickup configuration sheet, a dust cloth and the directions for changing the battery for the piezo. Should I have received some tools and directions for the tuners?

Tuners? They're self explanatory...untune string, unlock post (with thumbscrew on back), pull string out, replace, then lock post and clip excess. No reason for wraps on locking keys!!! I did notice that it is a pain to rifle thru the allen key pack in my toolbox to adjust the bridge saddles tho'. Two of mine came with the tools, one didn't. Good luck with her!

Mine came w. the trem bar, 2 extra trem springs, a polishing cloth, & warranty card. Thats it.

I had the same problem as OrangeChannel rifling through my tool box to find the allen key but once I found it, the bridge saddle adjustments were easy.

I emailed Ernie Ball & they told me that any "object" that will fit will do to adjust the truss rod, however they suggested an allen key.

One suggestion is to make sure the trem sits level to the body. When you adjust the bridge saddles the trem will move so you will most likely need to adjust the trem claw as well to level the trem. Trem Claw Setup

When putting new strings on my EB Petrucci I usually line the up the hole in the tuning peg so that it is pointing at the nut slot then I pull the string tight before locking it down to reduce the # of windings on the tuning keys. Congrats on the guitar! If you can, don't forget to post some pics. Once you get used to the EB Petrucci its hard to beat. My EB Petrucci is the most played out of my collection.
