Bass central just posted these recently, they look killer. The Pau Ferro looks darker on this model than in previous pictures.

There's something about a nice sunburst on a plain top that's so nice to me. Lovely stuff.

At first when I saw the poster/ad for these PDNs, I was kinda underwhelmed. Now I think they are possibly the most beautiful guitars I've seen in quite a while. These kind of pictures really just do something wonderful to me inside. The burst on the body is great but the neck and fingerboard just add a ton of extra magic. Wow. Just, wow.

You'll notice after looking at a few different guitars that the pau ferro really varies in terms of how dark it is. I QC'd one today where the pau ferro was almost the same color as the roasted maple. There were others that looked just like rosewood. Some streaky and some more consistent and plain.

really liking the roasted/unfinished neck. i'm hoping this becomes a more common option in the ebmm lineup.

I think part of what makes them look really special - in particular for an EBMM instrument - is the Mahogany woodgrain behind the finish. Personally, I am a huge fan of the look of Mahogany and the tight grain it has. A nice Maple top is great too but I really dig the look of the Trans finishes on Mahogany compared to Ash or Alder. Of course, the roasted necks are fantastic too but that's a more obvious feature whereas I think the Mahogany wood grain is a more subtle but significant factor to the way the guitars look.

Very cool.
