Hi all,
So like a fool I decided to try aftermarket replacements for my MM USA sterling, then realized the factory stuff was way better....
Im good at soldering and schematics and all that but after a bad day at work, i was rushing and kinda ccoked the circuit board on the factory pre,
so I decided to send the old parts to the California factory and get the replacements coming.
They arrived and I realized they sent the new revised preamp that came with them around 2007, which is fine as the pots feel much better than the other ones.
However on the original pre, the switching between parralell, single coil and series the volume was close to equal by design, however the new one when in single coil the volume drops by about 40%.....
and the pole pieces on one side of the pup are slightly facing inward not parrall to the top like they should be....
