New Ray Day!! Help me choose a new PG.

Found this beauty at a local L&M...heck of a nice bass. Its my first non SUB EBMM! Pretty stoked!

However that PG/Finish option just doesn't work for me...any suggestions? There is a sparkle/metalic nature to the finish that was hard to photo that makes me shy away from tort or black...

either way its pretty darn nice.

Well that pickguard isn't exactly ugly but it doesn't go well with that bass, it goes well with the orange firemist finish. On that bass it looks not so good.

Abalone, clear or +1 on the channeling Steve Harris thing....

Off topic, a newfound interest in the whole Steve Harris/Iron Maiden thing has been coincident with my newfound love of bass playing.....

Anyone have any ideas about how to get the eminently talented Mr. Harris over to the EBMM camp???

Not trying to hijack the thread or anything...just wondering out loud....(and thanks to everyone who keeps posting Blue Pearl pictures - you're giving me possible alternatives for my SR5HH that's in my future....someday....if they don't add the Amethyst Burst to the SR5 lineup by then....)

OK, I've ruminated whilst wondering....ABALONE is my final answer, and I'm sticking with it...

it is lovely...I was checking on the site but I am not sure which finish this is...do you know the name of it?

This combo looks nice...but I can't match that pickguard to the chart x 2 just challenged I guess.

I think he found his tone quite some time ago...


Back to the pickguard... moonstone and abalone could look good as well, however, they add some busy patterns and take away from the elegant simplicity of the blue and maple combined with e.g. plain black.
