Picked this bad boy a couple of weeks ago, is my tribute to B. Edwards and L. Johnson, always aimed to own a bass like this and finally I founded a nice opportunity.

Nice! How does she sound?

Comparing to my 89 that I consider a great bass, sounds tighter with a more punchy, defined and clear sound, you already feel it acoustically when is unplugged. I also like the feel of the rounded neck and smaller radius.

Very nice! I wonder what year that one was made?

Neck plate SN B003166, bridge, pots and neck are dated 1977, body is dated 1979 and i suspect preamp is also from 1979, non epoxy coated green and blue tantalum caps with IC socket.

Beautiful and classic. A five string version of that is on my list of want to own. Enjoy!

Tribute to Edwards and Johnson, so I'm assuming roundwounds all the way for zingy goodness?

4.2 kg, 9,4 lbs

I will post some sound files, this bass sound very clear despite overwound pickups

Looks like a three piece body with the bottom half of the body from two pieces. Correct? Regardless, a great find. Nice to see it having some mojo too.
