Might seem like a blatant plug for my band, which indeed it probably is, but I have just come out of the studio having laid the bass down on six new songs for our second album.
Used the 'Ray 30th straight into my Markbass head and D.I'd to the board. Aural heaven is the only way I can describe the tone I got. When using the Bass Pod on the last batch there was this high end 'twang' which, although nice, was difficult to compress and was a little overpowering at time. This time I dialled down and punched the mids a little on the bass. Sweet Jesus, what a growl I got!!
Anyway, head over to www.myspace.com/loopland and have a listen to four of them: Never Find Me, I Don't Know, Lean On Me & Ghost (Holding On) and witness the BEST tone I have EVER got from a bass.
Ooh, some feeback on the songs here would be nice too!!
Cheers,
Jamie.

Yes... Jesus is there! Surprising where he pops up!
Thinking of calling the album 'Save Our Souls':D
Actually I found the picture on the net and just launched it up to accompany. Got no relevance to us or the songs.

I liked the songs and your bass sound. Coincidently, I looked at a 3Oth MM today but couldn't plug in. It was helpful to hear one in a band context (I'm going back next week to try it through an amp). Good luck with recordings!

Thanks for the advice BP! I met up with a dealer AJ suggested (my thanks to AJ for his assistance!) and we got along quite well (and I lucked into meeting a very special bass player who was in the area and knew the salesman). I tried the 30th, a Stingray 5 and a Stingray HH. Really, really, liked all three. If I can swing it, I might try to get two! (And get the other later?). We plan to meet this week... I am very impressed with the quality and sound of MM basses!! And, with the forum as well!

That's a killer recorded sound! The tunes sound good too.

Anybody got a winning lottery ticket they'd like to donate to a good cause? :D
