So I was sitting on the couch on a Sunday watching a little golf about a month ago and the cell rings and it is Nigel Tufnel....... (OK Chris Guest) He is in a quandry. He has just had his guitars appraised for insurance purposes and the original MR Horsepower guitar comes in at a value that makes it nearly impossible to play. ALmost like the "dont even look at it" But in real life the guitar is actually a very signifigant guitar.

"What do I do?, I have this GLobal Warming Show that will be seen by 6 billion people on 07-07-07, and I want to play one of your guitars but I really cant travel with Mr Horsepower anymore" I said that is simple and that we would make you a global warming guitar. We knocked around a few ideas and two of mine that made the cut were the neck being a thermometer that got hotter the faster he played and a Al Gore holiday snow globe. You know those little plastic bubbles that you turn upside down and the snowflakes fall....I also wanted a blackberry case built into the back of the guitar. Not the cell phone a rubber blackberry.

It is actually based on a 20th silo because Chris loves his. the top is actually carved and beautiful.

Dudley and Enjoneer have been working 7 days a week getting this ready. These ae the first shots and I will keep you knuckleheads in the loop...

Note the round hole is where the snow globe and presidential seal go....(yes a white plastic seal) The pickup selectors are mini toggles that switch tips are important landmarks...Eifel Towel, Leaning Tower of Pizza, Empire state building.....

I supposedly have an Iphone ...we will see.

Chris called and said that he would be donating this guitar back to the CLB for auction. We will give him the backup to keep for his personal use. He didnt have to do that and is a gesture that shows what kind of person he is.

That is a fabulous looking instrument.

Who did the artwork?

(It would also look great on the rounded curves of a Bongo.)

Wow BP....your endorsers rule!

I'm surprised you didn't go for a lava lamp neck on that one....now that would have made even greater history!!!

Interesting concept, BP. I love the relief effect in both carved and figured maple.

But I'm lost about finding the Eifel Towel, Leaning Tower of Pizza, Empire state building in South America .

Thanks for sharing it with us.

Candidx my deep thinkng one.....GLOBAL WARMING!!!!

LOL! Sorry, I'm lost. The toggles are located at the landmarks you'd mentioned.. but they're in South America... GLOBAL WARMING. I don't see Europe, much less landmarks in Europe.

Am I over thinking this? lol

Anyway, it's really cool looking. Also appears that 3 buckers are going in?

no there are two THe original and the backup.
Candidx take a few deep breaths. there is a globe and a snow golobe and a instead of switches we are using landmarks to signify the global aspect of warming. This cant be that hard. Especially for my deep thinking friend

Mr. Guest & Mr. Tufnel are both my idols--for different reasons. Nigel should have a backup that he can destroy at the close of the set in sort of a Jimi at Monterey homage. The backup could be a representation of a post-Global warming world--it would be unplayable with a clear globe shaped plastic body filled with dirty water & it could be smashed on stage like a water balloon.

Sorry, it's early in the day here & I just caught hell from my wife because the shih tzus are being subversive.
