YEE-HAAAAA!!!! Two weeks earlier than expected, here is my new Silo Special. Pics aren't great, but it's all I could do before I could find some time and some outdoor lighting to do the guitar justice. I'll try to take some better ones this weekend.

This guitar is PERFECT. The setup is to die for, and intonation is perfect. Played through a Carr Rambler and a Mesa Lone Star, it sounds like a bell. It spanks through a Dr. Z MAZ18 and a Naylor EV38, and roars through a 5150 212 combo. This is a do-it-all guitar! If I can't do it with this SS, I don't want to do it :D:D

I have an acoustic amp, but the piezo sounds AMAZING through the Rambler and the Lone Star.

Thanks, BP and team...I have never been as happy out of the chute as I am with this beauty!

Now, the pics...

Ya done good, GH! Very nice.

PS: I'm jealous about that Rambler.

Very nice. My dream of a LE AL SSS with trem and rosewood board is shattered. This inspires me to order a Silo Spec SSS with trem, rosewood and maybe, piezo.

Good one there!

Really nice! I love the black with that pickguard design.

BTW, where is the switch for the piezo?

(Damn I seem to ask a lot of dumbass questions.)

Wow...I mean, ...WOW.
The Silo Special just moved up a couple of places on my wishlist!

I've never been a huge fan of pick guards...That just changed. Forever.

I can't see how it would be an improvement over the switch...if you leave the switch in the middle position it works that way too.

But I'm still GASsing for a piezo/hardtail Silo (non-Spec) ;)

Thanks, folks! This guitar is fantastic, all right. I had ordered it initially with a tortoise pickguard, but somebody here posted a pic with abalone, and I changed my order a few weeks ago. I can't remember who that was, but if you're reading this, THANKS! :). The abalone really makes the guitar pop.

I also have a Silo Special with maple board and non-piezo bridge. The tone is different between the two guitars. The maple board+bent steel saddles sounds spankier than the rosewood board+sold piezo saddles. Both sounds are great (so I need both guitars, right?). This new one though, it is so chimy and bell-like and singing...I was up until 2AM playing. My bud has an AC30, I can't wait to hear this guitar through one of those...

There isn't one, you have to use the piezo volume pot on the Silo.

I am afraid I will have to follow it up with another dumbass question. (Maybe, I should start a new thread "Eric's dumbass guitar questions.") What if you are using both jacks simultaneously and have both volume knobs turned on... do you hear one standard and one piezo output?

Overall, I like the idea of piezo, but I am not entirely convinced I *need* one. It seems like something that would be great for gigs, but to my ears they still miss the mark compared to a nice acoustic guitar.
