Wow, that's a surprising review for a Music Man. A GOOD one?

:D , just kidding, thanks for the link. It was intereting to read about the dual-pickup version of the sr5 without ever having played one myself.

I just pulled the trigger on a new white SR5 HS maple yesterday. ETA from white truck is Monday. Prior to March, I had never touched an EBMM bass. Since then I have purchased 4 new ones! I am truly addicted, I don't suppose there are any intervention groups out there anywhere?

View attachment 2562 That would be the one. I was thinking with the black PU covers a nice leopard pickguard would really do the trick in blending the black, white, and maple colors. Something to think about anyway.

BAH! You beat me to it!!!!!

Enjoy m'friend.

Well Doctor, it appears you are about to have a new addition to your stable soon as well. I have not owned a 5'er before and if it doesn't work out for me and you are interested in another pony maybe we can work out a sweet deal.
Enjoy yours as well. I have an SR4 HH Pearl blue with abalone PG, you are getting a nice color scheme there:cool:

That sounds cool man. So I guess I got first dibs, eh? :D :p

I do love pearl blue but after I saw the carbon blue pearl with abalone, it just blew me away. This was on a SR4 with a maple board and i'm dying to see it with rosewood and matching headstock.

Put me second on that list. If Dr. S doesn't want it, give me a shot at it.

Ok I got to review this review for approval and they ignored my comments due to their High journalistic standards.

The line that pisses me off is that this guy decided to scan Talk Bass proir to the review and caught the "one trick pony" Stingray4 reference and applied it to the five which is never considered a one trick pony.

I dont like magazines in our industry.

I'm not surprised! I'd be pretty ticked off if a magazine would rather quote some random forum on the internet then the guys who owns the company and actually makes the basses! Heaven forbid, but he may know more than the journalists!

Idiots.

I read the review and saw the same thing and just scratched my head. I wonder where true "journalistic research" comes into play. Anyone who has played an SR5 KNOWS what it can do and doesn't have to refer to the internet to help form their opinion. Oh well, chalk another one up to them (the rags have their place but sometimes I wonder).

Bass Player has been sliding down-hill for quite some time now. I liked Roger Sadowsky's review of the SR better, I think it was Jan. 93 if I remember correctly.
