Hey out there, this is gonna be windy but here goes. I got new Sterling 4 HS today and love the feel and OVERALL sound but still have a sound issue. I am not all that experienced-looking for advice. I noticed straight away the response was not even. The G & D strings were much weaker than the A, and the E was like a bomb comparared to others. I noticed the pickup pole below the E stood up above the cover (maybe .020"-.025" I am guessing) unlike any of other poles. I Also noticed the big differentials in response were when on the 4 and 5 selector positions. Actually position 6 sounded ok. My inexperienced thinking is telling me that in 4 & 5 positions (when the single coil with raised pole + the humbucker are all going at once) is the main or one and only cause of this?? Or is this just the way single coils are setup?? I have no experience with single coil pickups as my Bongo and Stingray are both HH. Also am getting quite a noise when I move the selector switch as well, just as it clicks between positions though. Is this a single coil thing as well or is my axe not really translucent teal but lemon yellow?? I am not one to fidget first and ask questions later so if anyone could advise it would be greatly appreciated.
