I just received my Custom Design Experience bass on 11/26. It's beautiful and plays great, but after just over a week of owning it, the 3-position selector switch seems to have developed an intermittent issue where the signal drops to being barely there in positions 2 and 3. Position 1 always works though. I first noticed late last week - I went to change position and got a nearly full signal dropout (I was recording and could see the meter just barely moving on positions 2 and 3). I immediately sent a support form on the Ernie Ball website, but haven't heard back yet. In the days since I first noticed, sometimes every position works and sometimes not.

I have some gigs coming up and sold my only other 5-string when I got this bass, so I'm reallllly hoping I won't need to send it in for repair (and pay for shipping a whole bass) for what will probably just be a cold solder joint.

Has anyone else had this issue? If it is indeed just a soldering issue, I would love to save the time and hassle of fixing it myself, but I obviously don't want to void the warranty if that's how that works?

All my dealings with EB CS has been really satisfying, they know their stuff and have been quick to respond.
I can´t see how having a look under the pickguard would void warranty, and since you mention cold solder I guess you know it if you see it?
Good luck

Thanks for the response!

I reached out to EBMM and they had me take a video of the issue. Just waiting on their response now.

Also, it looks like I have I have the 5-String version of your bass! I love the black/tort combo!
