New Stingray countdown and NBD!

Well, after being bowled over by a 2EQ Ray, I managed to JUST order one from the chaps at Strings & Things that was the last in stock in the spec Ive been after on a Ray for years.

Single H, 2 Band EQ, Vintage Sunburst, Black Plate, Rosewood.

This describes it: awesome oldschool simplicity.

So, now Im on a countdown to 3 (yes im VERY lucky) new Stingrays. Why three? I sold two 3 EQ 4H Rays, (late 90s/very early 00s models I believe) and this was to fund a new Ray 5 and just a different colour Ray 4 H 3 EQ.

That has been on order for a while, and now a new job has meant I can also get a lovely 2 eq. Yes, I could have opted for the UK offer of £999, but im a picky so and so, and I wanted the upgraded finish and MM hardcase.

The Ray 4H 2 EQ will be here for the weekend, and the Ray 5 HS should be on a shipment to the UK right now.

In addition, the 4H 3 EQ MAY also be on this shipment!

I may be receiving 3 Rays in one week. I dont mind if I only get the one this next week, and two would be great, but three?!

I cannot wait.

Can you tell im excited?

What bodes well for my EBMM choice for the future? Im thinking Reflex 4 HSS in White. If not that, a Big Al 4 in Vintage Burst.

:)

Some very good things are on their way to you!!!

I too am thinking of adding a Classic 4H Ray to my arsenal.

With regards to your future purchase, though I cannot talk about the Reflex, I can honestly say that the Big Al I've had for a few months now continually blows my mind. I have the SSS configuration and the tonal options from that thing are endless. So, for what it's worth, I'd suggest giving that one a go.

I won't lie, the second I see one, i'm going to pick up a Reflex and give it a thorough test, but from experience, the Big Al will not let you down.

Congrats - glad you snagged a 2 band - I think I saw that sunburst one on the Musicman UK website - very nice indeed.

Look forward to seeing the photos.

When will you have time to play one - I may be wrong but I reckon you've got at least 3 months 24/7 playing to do with the 3 you're getting before your Ray GAS is exhausted!!

Tell me about it!

One of them turned up today. Pics up soon. The courier has not delivered both boxes so my Ray 5 HS and extra strings etc is at the depot...they think its gone to the wrong depot by mistake!

I hate couriers....always a mess about, especially in the UK.

My dealer (Bass Merchant) is letting me know exactly what is going on when the courier office opens on Monday.

So, despite having to wait, and worry, the 2 band V Sunburst/Black Plate/Rosewood is here, and wow is it pretty!

Not only that, excellent QC, the neck pocket is very very good, brilliant finish, case excellent, case candy in the case, neck is a dream, and that 2 band! Im a convert to both now....

Now Ive got my Legal career arranged, the Big Al 4 SSS is going to be ordered. Celebration for 8 years of studying and hard work has paid off.
