When is the new dual pickup stingray suppose to start hitting stores?

And I've heard rumors about the old stingrays' prices being lowered, is it true

You might pick up a bargain from the bigger chains clearing old stock to make room for the new models.

Lower retail price... I can't see it.

i dont think the new price for a single pup EB is going to go down, but some speculate that the used price of a single pup EB will get lower when the new models are introduced.

im not sure what will happen. im sure there will still be a demand for single pup EB basses on the used market, esp. if everyone is looking for a great deals on them.

only time will tell.

IMHO if an EB bass loses value it is us that caused it. I can't believe the used prices on these basses. Once proven they shoud be worth more that a new one. IMHO once again

Ah, the "old stingray", I remember those. Poor old things, one pickup, weren't they?

Back when pterodactyls darkened the skies, we all played 'em.

I think what you heard was that certain large retailers were making some fabulous deals on current stock in order to make room for new stock. Haven't seen it myself here in Dallas, but I do read some other forums and a few people have made some damned fine deals for themselves.

No one expects list price to drop. That just isn't reality unless we're talking high tech products (computers, tennis shoes, weasel cages, etc).

In the online bass community, instrument turnover can be pretty high even when no new models are expected. I don't think (IMHO) that we're going to see hundreds of used Stingrays/Sterlings being sold in order to finance the purchase of a new model.....I could be wrong, though.

(Ask my wife.)

A used/not abused Stingray is still one of the best deals going in terms of value.

Believe it or not, every now and then, even HERE, we see mighty fine instruments being sold and traded and so forth.

the yes I am a bass whore myself,

I really dont fell that there will be any impact on the prices of any of our instruments. We introduced a boatload of models and really haven't increased production so there may in actual fact be a strengthning across the board at retail if anything. Supply and demand baby.
