so i ordered my stingray should be here monday or tuesday, and i was wondering if stingrays g sting is harder to break that other basses? because i have a schecter which slaps pretty good actually but it breaks the g string every month or so, is the stingray constructed differently allowing the gstring to be less breakable?? thanks

Your Schechter most likely has a bur(spur?) on the bridge that makes the G strings break easily. Slapping doesn't help that, but you can remedy the situation, I sure somene else with chime in about that. On the other hand, you might just play really hard(attempting to be flea :p) and that with enough "abuse" any string will break.

My guess is that your popping technique needs some refinement. It can't hurt to check the saddles. What brand of strings are you using?
