Just got back a rough copy of our songs last night. There's still some mixing, and mastering to be done before their ready to be put on CD, but I thought I'd share 3 of the songs we did to give you an idea of what my band sounds like. I uploaded them to youtube to make it easier for everyone to listen to and just added some random pictures to the videos. Let me know what you think.

Very good!

I'm not a fan of hard rock genre, but this song Love me Hate me is more pop/rock and sounds more commercial! It could be successful! ;)
Not bad at all, my son like it, he's young rocker, I'm an old fashioned musician and prefer jazz-rock! :)

By the way, Your bass sounds very good and I think You are ready for a 5 banger bass, especially according to the music genre You play!

good job man

i like the songs, sound quality, arrangements and the bass tone. The rhythm riffing is great and reminds me of Iron Maiden (that's meant as a compliment)

keep it up and thanks for sharing

Thanks for the compliments guys! Here's the "skinny" on how we recorded all of these songs since a few parts might sound a little rough here and there. Basically being an all original band, we don't make much money, and everything we do make goes back into the band. We needed to record something to get our music out to new venues, but studio prices can be a little outrageous around here. I found a studio called Charleston sound which was extremely nice, and was running a special for local artist to try and bring in some more business. We paid $1000 for 10 songs, and music video. The music video was shot in the studio, and hasn't finished being edited yet. The catch to it was, we only had two 10 hour days to get it all done. We've practiced for the last 4 weeks as a band to a metronome to get as tight as possible so we would have enough time to add extra layers and other stuff. We got there on a Saturday at 10am and started recording at 12pm. We recorded the bass, drums, and guitars in a "live" setting, and were done with all ten songs at 1:30. We took 30 minutes for lunch, came back and laid around 7 extra guitar tracks per song, and then started doing the solo's. We finished up around 9:30 that night. We came in on that Sunday and finished the solo's, the acoustic tracks, and I touched up two bass lines. We started doing vocals around 3, and were done with them around 7pm. After that we added guitar noises for the mixing, and then egg shakers and tambourines. We finished completely at 9pm. So in basically 2 days, we went in and got a lot done. As far as my bass tone, it's not what I usually like. I didn't run through my amp at all. What you hear is my stingray plus a chorus pedal going straight into the board. It sounds great for the most part, but some parts have way to much compression on it so it sounds squished. We plan on having it remixed soon, and then mastered, but for the price we paid, I'm not complaining. If yall want to check out the whole album I just started a new Facebook page for our band yesterday, and all of the songs are on the left side of the front page about mid ways down. Balls out and I vain have way to much reverb on the vocals, and thats being corrected right now. In Vain is the song we shot the video for. Here's the link, add us if your on facebook!- http://www.facebook.com/pages/OverDrive/269651593380

I like it. It reminds me of Coheed and Cambria in some parts. Let us know if the songs will be available on cd or for download somewhere.

We did our last recordings in a livesession too. I think it gives the songs good dynamics.

We're hoping to have the Cd's ready by April, but they songs will be on Itunes soon. I'll let yall know. As far as recording in a live setting, I split 50/50 on it. I enjoy playing along with band because it forces me to accent certain parts better, and feed off of the band. On the other hand, I enjoy playing without them and doing separate tracking because it lets me be critical about my bass playing.
