I stopped in to look at acoustic guitars, not expecting anything new in the bass department ... not anything of interest to me, anyway, since a sales guy there told me last weekend that he was absolutely certain that the only EBMM bass they'd be getting in the near future was an SR5 (love 'em, but not in the market for one now).
Well, the first thing I was pleasantly surprised to see was a used ES (I'm pretty sure) SR4H on the wall. I took it down and looked it over, then I put it back and meandered on over toward bass land. I'm totally thinking about something else, hardly paying attention to bass land (again, not expecting to see anything new), when suddenly I catch a back-side glimpse of a bass in a separate little display, just outside the entrance to bass land. It's got a dark neck, and I can only see part of the back of the upper horn, but I'll be damned if it doesn't look like ... True Gold! I quickly step around for the full frontal, and BAM! ... BFR Rosewood Sterling 5 HS in true gold with VWP pick guard. WOW! Sa-WEEET!
And just as the recognition of what I'm looking at fully hits me ... BAM! ... BAM BAM !! Two Big AL's and a 25th 4HSS!! All 4 of them had arrived ~1 hour before.
The painful part was that I HAD to be home for something we had going on this evening, and I was already running late. Be that as it may, I had to at least play one right then, and of course I'll be going back tomorrow.
So ... which would you have chosen to play?
